Suspect who sold heroin to Durham rugby players arrested

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A suspect accused of selling heroin to two British rugby players who died in May, has been arrested and remanded till 10 August.

The two rugby players had suffered breathing difficulties after a night out and died while receiving treatment in hospital.

Tom Baty and Thomas Howard of the Durham City RFC were admitted to hospital after suffering breathing problems and it was later revealed they had consumed heroin.

The men had been touring the country with Durham-based Clems Pirates RFC and had played a game against Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club (CRFC) in Colombo.
