VIjayakala grilled over LTTE remarks

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Police Organised Crime Prevention Division (OCPD) has recorded a statement from former State Minister VIjayakala Maheswaran over a controversial speech she had made recently.

VIjayakala was questioned for around three-and-a-half-hours in Jaffna, the Police said.

Addressing the “Janapathi Nila Mehewara” event at the Weerasingham Hall in Jaffna on 02 July, Vijayakala stated that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Organisation should be resurrected in order to ensure incidents such as the recent murder of a child in Jaffna does not take place.
