Railway technical staff launches a work-to-rule Campaign from Midnight today

The Railway Technical Management Assistant Officers Association says it has decided to launch a work-to-rule trade union action based on 9 demands from midnight today (22). Issues relating to a 40-hour duty week and over-time disparities are among them.

The General Secretary of Railway Technical Management Assistants’ Union W. B. S. Kamal Peiris said, the demands were handed over to a committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers in December 2017, however, the report was ignored by the committee headed by Minister Sarath Amunugama. The Union futher said, because of this trade union action, there will be delays in train services from Monday(23).
