25 metric tons of rice released to the market

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Twenty five metric tons of rice will be released to the market in Polonnaruwa district, Polonnaruwa United Rice Producers Union says.

Its President Muditha Perera said if the government release paddy they can supply rice without inconveniencing the public.

There is a rice shortage in the country and the prices of a kilo of rice exceed Rs. 100 in some areas.
