Sri Lanka Cricket donates medicines worth Rs. 1 million to Apeksha Cancer Hospital

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Cricket donated medicines worth Rs. 1 million to the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama on Tuesday (17).

The move was initiated by the ‘Cricket Aid,’ the Charity Arm of Sri Lanka Cricket established in 2004, under the guidance of the Minister of Sports Faiszer Mustapha.

The donation was handed over by the SLC CEO, Mr. Ashley De Silva to Dr. Buddika Kurukulasuriya, the Deputy Director of the Apeksha Hospital.

The donation took place, while the members of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team and the officials of the SLC made a visit to the hospital this evening and spent their valuable time with the patients.

The SLC also handed over gifts to nearly 50 children who are being treated at the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Apeksha Hospital.
