One Spill Gate of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir opened on Monday (16) due to the prevailing rainfall experienced in the Central Hill area.
If the prevailing weather further continue, the other Spill Gate of the Reservoir will be opened as well.
Authorities urged residents residing below Kotmale Oya to be vigilant.
