Vijayakala decides to resign

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Vijayakala Maheswaran on Thursday (05) announced that she has decided to resign from the State Minister of Child Affairs portfolio.

The decision was based following her controversial statements made in Jaffna in Monday (02).

Addressing the “Janapathi Nila Mehewara” event at the Weerasingham Hall in Jaffna on Monday, Vijayakala stated that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Organisation should be resurrected in order to ensure incidents such as the recent murder of a child in Jaffna does not take place.
