Weeratunga and Palpita testify before Court in “Sil Clothes” distributing Case

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former Secretary to Ex-President Lalith Weeratunga who testified before Courts in connection with distributing ‘Sil clothes’ during the last Presidential election to promote former President Mahinda Rajapaksa rejected the allegations.

Appearing before Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga, another suspect in the same case, former Director General of Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Anusha Palpita also rejected the allegations.

Both Weeratunga and Palpita have been accused of incurring a loss of millions of rupees to the government by distributing ‘Sil clothes’ along with pictures of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
