White House Adviser Kushner, Saudi Crown Prince meet on Middle East

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman met on with United States (US) President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, on Wednesday (20) to discuss increasing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the US, the Arab News reported.

They also talked about the need to bring humanitarian relief to Gaza, and the Trump Administration’s efforts to bring peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Also attending the meeting in Jeddah was US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt. Kushner held a similar meeting on Tuesday with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Amman.

Kushner and Greenblatt have said the plan they are drawing up for building peace between Israel and the Palestinian territories is nearly complete. The potential for peace was thrown into doubt last month when Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem sparked violent protests in which dozens of Palestinians died.
