(UTV|COLOMBO) – The prime suspect in the Kiriwehera Temple shooting incident has been identified, the Police said.
According to the Police, the suspect identified as Asela Lakshman Bandara, who had been employed at a temple earlier. The Police found weapons inside his house, and investigations are underway to locate him.
Earlier, the vehicle in which three suspects who open fired at Chief Incumbent of Kataragama Kiriwehera Ven. Kobawaka Damminda Thero and another Thera was taken into custody by the Police on Wednesday (13).
Eight Police teams have been assigned to carryout investigations.
Ven. Damminda Thero and another Thera have been hospitalised after being shot at at by unidentified gunmen around 11.00 PM on Tuesday (12).
