“Government has no intent to delay election”- Wasantha

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – State Minister of Irrigation Wasantha Senanayake says the government has no intention of delaying the LG election.

The State Minister attributed the delay in conducting the election to discussions being held with all political parties pertaining to the preparation of a new electoral system.

Senanayake speaking at a gathering in Polonnaruwa said those hurling allegations at the government have no footing at the upcoming local government election.

State Minister Wasantha Senanayake added the government hopes to claim victory at the Local Government election that will be held this year.
