(UTV|COLOMBO) – The inauguration ceremony of the 15th Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum was commenced under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena today (11).
The event hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) commenced today and it will continue until 13 June 2018 in Colombo.
The APT Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum (ADF) provides a platform for the APT members, including governments, regulators, industry players and all other stakeholders to discuss ways for development of telecommunications and ICT.
Marking the inauguration of the Forum the Secretary General of the APT, Ms Areewan Haorangsi welcomed the all the participants to the Forum.
A special briefing was made by the Vice President of the 15th Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum Ms. Tepua Hunter and the inaugural lecture was delivered by the Chairman, of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Mr Austin Fernando, Secretary to the President.
The Secretary General of the APT Areewan Haorangsi presented a special memento to the President and President Sirisena also presented a special memento to the Secretary General.
The representative of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, including its Director General attended this Forum.
