(UTV|COLOMBO) – Due to active South-West monsoon, windy condition is expected to strengthen over the island and in the sea areas around the island in next few days, the Department of Meteorology reported.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western Provinces.
Heavy falls above 100mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in Kaluthara, Galle and Matara Districts.
Strong gusty winds up to 60kmph can be expected over the island particularly in Southern, Central, Northern, North-Central and North-Western Provinces and Monaragala District.
