Speaker pledges to table complete bond report in Parliament

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informed Parliament that he had received 11 of the 360 pages of the unpublished sections of the bond commission report last morning from the Presidential Secretariat.

According to the Speaker, the report of the Bond Commission had discredited the entire nation and its people including the Parliament and its members.

“In the recent past there had been many media reports circulating on the basis of some sections hitherto unavailable in the public domain, causing much inconvenience and tarnishing the image of the government, MPs, Parliament and the country. This is a very unfortunate situation,” he said.

“Once I receive the entire report I will make it available to all MPs. The complete report will be tabled in Parliament,” said Speaker Jayasuriya, who has asked the President’s Secretary for the other missing pages as well.
