President Trump nominates Alaina B. Teplitz as Ambassador to Sri Lanka

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United States President Donald Trump Thursday nominated career foreign service officer Alaina B Teplitz as the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka.

The White House has sent the nomination of Teplitz to the Senate to be Ambassador to Sri Lanka to serve concurrently and without additional compensation as Ambassador to the Republic of Maldives.

Teplitz of Colorado is a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor and currently serves as the Ambassador to Nepal.

If the Senate confirms her appointment, Teplitz will be replacing the current Ambassador Atul Keshap, who began his tenure as the U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka in August 2015.
