GMOA island-wide token strike today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has decided to launch an island-wide token strike today (17) at 8.00 AM.

The strike will be launched against the purported Sri Lanka – Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and several other issues concerning the country’s health sector.

All emergency treatment will not be affected by the strike while the Doctors will carry out all emergency care as usual, and the strike will not take place at all Children’s, Maternity, Cancer, Kidney and Army Hospitals in the country.
