Dilum Amunugama summoned to Terrorist Investigation Division

UTV | COLOMBO – Joint Opposition MP, Dilum Amunugama has been summoned to the Terrorism Investigation Division to record a statement.

He had initially been asked to give a statement on 10th of May in connection with the recent Kandy riots.

However, MP Amunugama told us that he would ask for an alternative date as he is required to attend Parliament on 10th of May.

353 suspects were arrested in connection with the Kandy riots by police.

220 of those individuals were later released on bail.

However, the leader of Mahason Balakaaya, Amith Weerasinghe along with 131 other suspects are still being held in remand custody.
