Law and Order Minister instructs IGP to probe missing medal

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Law and Order Ranjith Maddumabandara has instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to undertake an immediate inquiry into the disappearance of the ‘Ranamayura Golden Peacock Award’ conferred upon legendary Sri Lankan Film maker Dr. Lester James Peries.

Minister Maddumabandara has announced that investigations with respect to the missing ‘Ranamayura Award’ were being carried out under the supervision of a Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

Bambalapitiya Police have commenced further investigations into the disappearance of the ‘Ranamayura Award’.
