80% of the occupied land in the North released

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The government states that they have released 80% of the land in the Northern province that was under the control of the Army to its first owners.

According to the Army Spokesperson Brigadier Sumith Atapattu, 56000 acres of land have been given to the residents by now.

He further stated that a study is being conducted in-order to ascertain other lands that could be released by the Sri Lankan armed forces.
