Indian Vice Chief of the Naval Staff visits Naval Headquarters Colombo

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Vice Chief of the Naval Staff (VCNS) of the Indian Navy Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar visited Naval Headquarters in Colombo on Wednesday (18).

Upon the arrival, he was accorded a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions and warmly received to the Naval Headquarters by Commander Western naval Area Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna.

Thereafter, the Indian VCNS paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe. They held cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on strategic naval cooperation too. Mementos were exchanged as a gesture of goodwill.

Vice Admiral Kumar who is on a four day official visit to Sri Lanka, will participate in the commissioning ceremony of P624 as a special invited guest, tomorrow (19 April). On completion of the tour he is scheduled to leave the island on 20th April.
