Action initiated to find solutions to 17 issues in the nursing service

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister Rajitha Senaratne has taken action to find solutions to 17 issues in the nursing service. This action was initiated at a special meeting organized to discuss the problems.

A discussion between the Public Service United Nurses Union and Minister Rajitha Senaratne was held at the Health Ministry. 17 matters including the conversion of the health service into an islandwide service, increasing the various allowances and also increasing the special allowances granted for the health service had been discussed at this meeting. Attention was drawn to the delay in the payment of salaries of the nursing staff of the Neville Fernando Hospital.

The Minister issued instructions to expeditiously prepare the files concerned and pay the salaries. Agreement was reached to grant an official vehicle to Principals of Nurses Colleges. Another decision taken was to grant buses for five Nurses Colleges.
