SLTB’s Shashi Welgama further remanded

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former Chairman of the SLTB Shashi Welgama and another individual were further remanded today, as per the order from the Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruna Buddhadasa.

Both suspects have been accused of the misuse of Rs. 125 million, in the purchase of a spare parts deal for the SLTB.

When the case was taken for hearing this morning, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Court that investigations are being carried out, to arrest the third suspect in the incident.

CID also informed the Courts that the third suspect who was a former financial manager of the SLTB has already fled the country.
