Public Admin assaults weren’t disputed during UPFA government –Indunil

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP) charges that individuals did not raise their concerns against public administration officers during the term of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led government.

Speaking at a media briefing at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha, Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil commented on the dispute between Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake and the Divisional Secretariat of Divulapitiya.

Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil said Deputy Minister Ramanayake merely presented a question asking how anyone would react to a particular assault.

MP Indunil added that far more happened in the past during the United People’s Freedom Alliance led government.

Parliamentarian Indunil said Samurdhi officers were punished far worse during the UPFA led government claiming that a politician entered a school and commanded teachers to kneel in front of the entire school.

MP Thushara said another MP who is currently in parliament brutally assaulted a Provincial Councillor because he refused to grant the MP a permit.

Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil questioned as to why island wide protests were not launched pertaining to incidents during the previous government.
