Minister Bathiudeen requests Government to safeguard peace in the country

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen requested the President and Prime Minister to immediately intervene to settle the tense situation in Ampara.

Minister Bathiudeen in a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, emphasised that the Government should compensate the affected Mosque and shop owners.

The Minister has requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take necessary steps to investigate into the incident and arrest the culprits responsible.
