(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Prevailing showery condition will gradually reduce from today (31stJan.), the Met. Department said.
According to them, colder nights and mornings are likely in the Northern half of the island during the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm.
Light showers will occur in the coastal area of the Eastern province and Hambantota district.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
