Over 3,000 families affected by rain

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Centre for Disaster Management (CDM) says over 10,000 persons from 3,000 families are affected in the district of Batticaloa due to heavy rain.

Udhayam News correspondent reported that the Kiran-Thoppigala main road is inundated. He said this has affected the daily lives of many people including those in the village of Pulakatthadu.

The Disaster Management Centre said steps are underway to provide relief to those affected.
