Special meeting held between President and Prime Minister on political situation

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A special meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was held at the President’s official residence at Mahagama Sekara Mawatha in Colombo 07 on Monday night (12).

The meeting focused on the current political situation in the country following the defeat suffered by the United National Party (UNP) and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) at the Local Government (LG) Elections.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, UNP Chairman Malik Samarawickrame, and its General Secretary Kabir Hashim.
