(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Rescue operations are still underway by the wildlife officials to save animals affected due to the flooding of Moragahakanda Reservoir.

Due to the prevailing rain, the water level is rising in the reservoir rapidly, Udhayam news learns.

The existing dry areas are also currently going under water.

When the water levels are rising, the animals from the surrounding jungles have started climbing up the trees, reportedly.

The officials of the Elahera Wildlife Department are engaging in the rescue operations of these animals.
