Arjun Aloysius files bail application, order to be given on Feb. 16

UTV | COLOMBO – The owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena have filed bail applications in writing before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court this morning (Feb. 07).

Fort Magistrate, Lanka Jayarathna announced that the ruling on the bail applications will be issued on 16th of February.

The Magistrate also ordered the Attorney General to make written submissions with regard to the bail application by the defendants before next Friday.

Aloysius and Palisena were arrested by the CID last Sunday over their alleged links to Central Bank bond scam and they were remanded until 16th of February, on the following day.

The counsels appearing for the two suspects sought bail when they were produced before the court last Monday.

However, the Magistrate further remanded the suspects and ordered that the bail applications be submitted in writing.

Accordingly, the bail applications were submitted this morning (Feb. 07).
