“Certain elements seeking petty political mileage by creating conflicts between Tamils and Muslims” – Minister Bathiudeen

(UTV|VANNI) – Attempts are being made by certain elements to seek petty political mileage by creating conflicts between Tamil and Muslim communities, the Leader of the All Ceylon Makkall Congress (ACMC), Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said.

He warned that these may harm the longstanding brotherhood between Tamil and Muslim communities in Sri Lanka.

Minister Bathiudeen made these remarks in Manthai, Mannar on Friday (26), addressing a public meeting organised to confirm the victories of candidates who are contesting under ACMC for the forthcoming Local Government (LG) Elections.

“I am doing my utmost best to make a change here by creating ethnic and religious coexistence in the Vanni District. I know that not only the Muslims but also the Tamils and Sinhalese in the Vanni District are being a massive fraternity for my cause,” he further emphasised.

The Minister was greeted by a large crowd and received a strong support from locals in the area.
