GMOA to strike without prior warning if SAITM issue remains unsolved

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) would launch an island-wide strike without prior warning if the demands made by the GMOA are not met by the Government, GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said.

An island-wide strike will be launched if the Government does not respond to 9 issues including the issue surrounding the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) within a week.

Addressing a media briefing held at the GMOA Headquarters in Colombo on Monday (15), Dr. Aluthge said that the strike would be launched without prior notice, and the President and the Health Ministry have already been informed about the trade union action to be taken by the GMOA.
