UTV | COLOMBO – The Met Department says that the deep and shallow sea area off the coast extending from Kankasanturai to Colombo via Puttalam can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph
“The sea area off the coast extending from Kankasanturai to Galle via Batticaloa and Hambanthota can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 50-55 kmph “, it added.
Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph and very rough seas can be expected in the sea areas during thundershowers.
In these circumstances, Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant.
