Nearly 200kg of Cannabis meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka seized

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Nearly 200 kg of ganja, meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka was on Monday (11) seized from a car at Sundaramudayan near Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.

The Police said that one suspect was arrested in this connection, the Press Trust of India reported.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police intercepted the car transporting the ganja worth Indian Rs 1 crore in the international market and arrested Siddiq Ali of Thondi in Ramanathapuram district, they said.

The car had been impounded, they added.
