(UTV|COLOMBO) – The depression in the Bay of Bengal sea area is moving further away from Sri Lanka. Hence its effect for the country is expected to be lessen and the possibility for rainy weather is decreasing over the island.
This system is located nearly 950km to the North-east of Trincomalee. It is likely to develop in to a deep depression during next 24 hours and move towards north-northwest direction in the Bay of Bengal sea area.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Uva, Southern and Central provinces and in the Ampara district after 2.00p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western,North-western, Sabaragamuwaand Central provinces during the morning.
