Showers in Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva Provinces

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The low pressure area in the South-east Bay of Bengal islocated 1100km away from the Sri Lanka. It is likely to develop into a depression during next 24 hours. Therefore, wind speed can be increased in Eastern and Northern provincesandin Northern and Eastern sea areas from today.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00p.m.

Fairly heavy showers (about 75mm) can be expected in Eastern, Northern, North-central and Uva provinces.

Fairly strong gusty winds (up to 50kmph) can be expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
