Delegation of SL-Pak Friendship, Trade and Investment Association meets Pak Envoy

UTV|COLOMBO – A delegation of Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship, Trade and Investment Association met the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat at the High Commission premises today.

The Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship, Trade and Investment Association is one of the oldest Association of Sri Lanka which was established in 1950. The Association has established itself as a useful platform, dedicated to the promotion of relationship of friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

President of the Association Mr. Ifthikhar Aziz, briefed the High Commissioner about history and activities of the Association including various social welfare and cultural activities under the purview of the Association.

The High Commissioner lauded the role of the Association. He underscored that the Association has played an important role in bringing the people of both countries together through various activities and exchanges, thus contributing significantly towards the warm and multifaceted relations Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy today, especially generous donation of Corneas to Pakistan.

He expressed the hope that the Association will continue its positive role in fostering friendship between citizens of the two countries. He assured that the High Commission of Pakistan would continue to patronize and support the Association for future endeavours.
