Showery conditions expected to enhance – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the South-west Bay of Bengal to the Southeast of Sri Lanka, showery condition over the island is expected to enhance particularly in the Northern, North-central Eastern and Uva Provinces today (25) and tomorrow (25).

Cloudy skies are expected over most parts of the island.

Fairly strong gusty winds (about 50 kmph) can be expected in the Northern and Eastern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhereparticularly after 2.00p.m.

Heavy falls (above 100mm) can be expected at some places in the Eastern, North-central, Northern and Uva provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, North-western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
