Two arrested for illegal firearm possession in Meetiyagoda

(UTV|GALLE) – Two persons have been arrested for the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition in Meetiyagoda on Sunday (19) by the Special Task Force (STF).

While searching the suspects, the Officers found 2 live grenades, 2 locally made firearms, and 4 bullets in their possession. The suspects will be produced before Balapitiya Magistrate today (20), the Police said.

The suspects aged 31, and 32 have been identified as residents of Meetiyagoda. Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Meetiyagoda Police.
