(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation into the incident where 27 prison inmates were killed during a shootout at the Welikada Prison in 2012, the Police said.
The investigation was being carried out on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara.
