Premier to sign MOUs during the Vietnam visit

(UDHAYAM, DAVOS) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held discussions about strengthening the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Vietnam during the World Economic Summit in Switzerland.

It was stressed that these relations should be strengthened based on the traditions and culture which are same for both countries.

Vietnam Prime Minister said that they are hoping to sign MOUs during Prime Minister Wickremesinghes official visit to Vietnam in April.

They also discussed about appointing a high level joint commission to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Finance minister Ravi Karunanayaka, Development Strategies and International Trade minister Malik Samarawickrema, Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ravinatha Ariyasinghe Additional Secretary to Prime Minister Saman Athaudahetti and Advisor to the ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade Mangala Yapa also participated.
