Surveyors to launch 48-hour strike today and tomorrow

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Government Surveyors’ Association announced that a trade union action will be carried out on Tuesday (11) and Wednesday (12), where surveyors will be calling in sick and taking leaves of absence.

The Association stressed that the trade union action is being taken seeking long-term solutions for the shortage of survey field assistants, and difficulties posed in making measurements owing to the redirection of existing officials towards external tasks.

A continuous strike will be launched from July 13 onwards if the Government fails to pay due attention to their requests, the Association said.
