GMOA against new SLMC Chairmanship; Warns continuous strike [VIDEO]

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) on Sunday (09) warned to launch a continuous strike if Government take measures to end the term of Professor Carlo Fonseka as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge emphasised the Health Minister has no mandate to remove the SLMC Chairman, and alleged that the Minister is eyeing to appoint a pro-SAITM (South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine) activist for the SLMC Chairman post violating the Medical Ordinance.
