Security Forces join Dengue eradication programme

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Hundreds of Army Troops are currently engaged in Dengue eradication campaign in Western Province, Army Media stated.

According to that, more than 260 Army Troops have been deployed for the Dengue eradication campaign in Colombo, Kaduwela, Piliyandala, Hanwella, Homagama, and Kahathuduwa areas.

In addition, nearly 250 Troops have also conducted a campaign in Gampaha and Kalutara Districts beside Dengue prevention programs in Mirigama, Dompe, Biyagama, Kelaniya, Attangalla, Matugama, Wadduwa, and Bandaragama areas conducted by the SFHQ-West.

Meanwhile, in order to assist the fight against Dengue, Sri Lanka Navy also initiated to clear water ways in Colombo, Wattala, Kelaniya, Peliyagoda, and Kerawalapitiya areas which are mostly clogged with mud, garbage and salvinia hampering the free flow of water.
