(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on Monday (03) discussed a range of bilateral issues during the Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held at the secretary level.
Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque and his Sri Lankan counterpart Esala Weerakoon discussed bilateral issues during the secretary level meeting held at State Guest House Padma around 3.00 PM, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
A Foreign Ministry official has told the Dhaka Tribune that a total of 30 issues, including bilateral trade and connectivity, were discussed in the meeting.
Issues related to establishing relations between Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), information sharing, nurse training, bilateral cooperation in Ready Made Garment (RMG) sector were also highlighted in the discussion.
The meeting was scheduled to be held on May 25 but the date was postponed due to sudden reshuffle in the Sri Lankan Ministry.
