(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The revision of bus fares comes into effect from today (01). The Cabinet of Ministers approved the increase in bus fares by 6.28% to come into effect from July 01.
Accordingly, the minimum bus fare will increase to Rs. 10.
The National Transport Commission (NTC) also decided to increase bus fares of buses plying along expressways by 6.28% in accordance with the recent bus fare hike.
Accordingly the expressway bus fare from Maharagama to Galle has increased to Rs. 410 while the fare from Maharagama to Matara has increased to Rs. 510.
Additionally the buses plying from Kaduwela to Matara has increased to Rs. 520, while the bus fare from Colombo to Matara has increased to Rs. 530.
The bus fares from Kaduwela to Galle have increased to Rs. 430 while the bus fare from Kadawatha to Galle has been increased to Rs. 440.
