“Security forces only involved in monitoring of garbage removal” – Military Spokesperson

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Security forces are at present involved in the monitoring of unauthorised and haphazard disposal of garbage, informing relevant authorities and observing the proper collection of garbage says the Military Spokesperson and Army Media Director, Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne.

Brigadier Seneviratne stated that Security Forces personnel do not carry out garbage removal but are involved in observing such locations where garbage has been improperly disposed and inform relevant Municipal and Local Council authorities. Thereafter they also monitor the garbage collection and removal activities.

In addition the Security Forces personnel also assist the Police to arrest persons involved in illegal and improper disposal of garbage, Brigadier Seneviratne said.
