Thabbowa Tourism Zone to be opened next year

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Government plans to open the Thabbowa Tourism Zone in Puttlam next year, said the State Minister for Irrigation and Water Resources Management Palitha Range Bandara.

The tourism zone will be created cantering the Thabbowa Reservoir and the Thabbowa Sanctuary while the Neelabamma Environmental Zone will also be included.

At a meeting held in Anamaduwa recently, it was revealed that Thabbowa cultivation colonies and the surroundings will also be developed in parallel to the tourism zone. It will also provide facilities for studying of whales and also to conduct environmental investigations.
