(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne on Thursday (15) issued an arrest warrant on Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General-Secretary, Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, for failing to appear in Courts. This is the second arrest warrant issued on the Thera.
A previous warrant was issued for Gnanasara Thero who had been accused of making public statements calling for attacks on Muslims. The BBS stated the Thero is in hiding as there is an alleged threat to his life.
The Police had said that Gnanasara Thero is to be arrested for obstructing Police duty and over several other complaints. A Court order had been obtained preventing him from leaving the country.
