Constitutional Assembly to hold talks with MPs

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Constitutional Assembly has decided to hold a special round of talks with representatives of several political parties representing Parliament.

According to the NewsRadio a spokesman said the duties of the Constitutional Assembly and the proposed new Constitution will be discussed at length.

The Joint Opposition, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Tamil National Alliance have agreed to attend the discussion.

The Spokesman of the Constitutional Assembly said he hoped other political parties too will attend the talks.

Following the discussion a date will be determined to table the draft of the new Constitution in Parliament.
