Kalu Ganga and Gin Ganga water levels receding – Irrigation Department

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The water levels in rivers are receding due to the low rainfall received during the past 24-hours, the Irrigation Department said.

Director (Hydrology) P. Hettiarachchi said the water levels in the Kalu Ganga and the Gin Ganga was decreasing gradually but there was no change in the flood situation at Baddegama. She said they there was a fear that the floods might have damaged most of the irrigation systems though it could not be confirmed until the flood waters recede completely.
